What is X3 Player and X3 Codec Download

What is X3 player codec? Does these exist? Recently when I opened a video link mailed by one of my friends stating that it is a video of a latest movie I had seen a message in the player "please download x3 Player to watch this encoded Movie or Video". What is X3 player? Actually X3 player is not any media player or video codec which can play video files but an application packed with lot of trojans. When you download X3 codec and run it instead opening a media player it actually infects the PC running on Microsoft Windows.
What happens actually when we download videos from untrusted sites or torrent sites some times they offer videos engineered in .avi format which instruct you to use the x3 player to run the video file. In fact it actually plays a 10 to 12 seconds movie showing a message "please download x3 Player to watch this encoded Movie or Video". To view the movie immedeately people generally download this x3 player and run that application which infects the PC immedeately.
This x3 player is a similar application as 3w player, DOM player and DIVO codec which are bundled softwares with trojans called 'Trojan.Win32.Obfuscated.en'. If you have an updated antivirus it will automatically detect trojans in these applications and warn you. I have symantec antivirus in my PC running on windows and it immedeately detected and deleted from my computer. The videos we download from untrusted sites are not actual movie videos but false videos which instruct us to download x3 player or download x3 codec.
Be aware of this kind of videos when you download latest movies or some other videos.

@vibhavram I too was unaware of this initially untill my antivirus detected as trojan. Then I had searched for more information on x3 player on the internet and found it as a false media player.

Thanks for this information. I had been searching for x3 player since 3 to 4 months. I didn't know that it is a virus. I had downloaded x3 player for many times and could not play any video with that. I think I need to have a better antivirus on my system. The present one is not detecting this x3 player virus.
