This plugin [Yet Another Related Posts Plugin(YARRP)] is simply awesome and bring related posts even in RSS email.
I prefer the Microkids related posts plugin. It lets you select related posts manually.
Awesome hub but I also prefer Microkids related post plugin, I find it to be more customizeable

I had installed SEO plugins reading your post and found much improvement. Now I will try one of these plugins too and check how will related posts improve my site performance. I think Contextual Related Posts must be the best plugin to use as this plugin gives the links right from the content. The above 2 plugins show the links in the sidebars or bottom of the post which i dont think would be better choices.
